Squidoo isn't myspace for grown-ups, Blinxi is. Created by a retired couple who felt too old for myspace.

You're absolutely right, Bill. I read this essay (www.spinninglobe.net/againstschool.htm) on public education, from a previous public school teacher, that really opened my eyes as well.

I'm glad you were able to find something to get this conversation going.

K-12 education is still in the dark ages ... it might as well be 1820 in most classrooms.

It's time to apply some of what we have learned about online learning and digital curriculum in the past 20 years.

I came to much the same conclusion back in December (http://thebitterpill.com/12-2005/squidoo/), but like ZenRob, I think they're going to have to improve the social networking aspect to make that really happen.

Most drugs are poisons.

Well, that's what some people who work in the field of Alternative Medicine say.

All I know is that I am very, very sensitive to drugs... and have had bad reactions to very common, 'safe' drugs.

The problem is that we are all unique. And, 'they' the pharma-giants can't test everyone.

Read Aurthur Hailey's "Strong Medicine" for a great inside look at the quandry's of drug testing.

I think the more social aspect of squidoo is behind-the-scenes, where myspace is more transparent. Squidoo pages are about becoming an 'expert' in whatever niche you desire. For instance, the boing boing lens I created has generated a ton of traffic and almost as much email - it's ranked #7 at squidoo and #5 in a search of google

I think the social aspect of it is just starting to shine through - and more of it to come. I don't think, like MySpace (or LinkedIn, even)it will be about who you know, it will be about who The Experts are that you know.

I've seen quite a bit of linking between lenses, and I think there's a lot more to come.
